discovering hyper-local experiences

duration – 5 months // year – ’18 & ’19 //  type – client project

project description and brief

After the core product of a start-up was negatively affected due to changes in the industry, we started with the journey to rethink their offering. The project brief was to ‘Create an app that helps users discover experiences near their homes/while on vacation. In addition to the discovery, the app must also assist the user in making the most of the experience through bluetooth low energy (BLE).’

the interface

The app consists of 4 sections – homepage, search, discover and profile. When the user is inside an outlet, a 5th section is introduced, which assists the user with information about that outlet.

when the user is inside an outlet

When the BLE detects that the user is inside the outlet, the interface changes to prioritize information that is more important to the user at the moment like in-mall navigation.

A new section gets added to the bottom navigation which gives easy access to the outlet’s information.

project takeaways

This was the first project where I worked with a start-up, and I loved the energy and the dynamic nature of the project. Whereas design changes are quite common in any project, here we changed the crucial aspects of the product multiple times due to the constant development and addtions in the scope of the product.

i hope you liked that project. check out some more of my work :)
